Honda's Shadow line of Custom Cruiser motorcycles include the Spirit, Aero, Sabre, VLX, and VLX Deluxe. They are generally a 1099cc liquid-cooled 45-degree V-twin engine with shaft drive. The VT 1100 came out in 1985, the VT 750 a few years earlier. The Honda shadow is a cruiser type motorcycle, meaning it has an upright riding position and wide handle bars, this makes it more comfortable than a sportsbike, although the lack of fairings mean the rider is exposed to the wind. The Shadow series was originally introduced as a replacement for the old rebel series, and is available in several sizes, ranging from leaner legal (Barely) 125CC model, to a monsterous 1800CC. All Shadows are equipped with V-twin engines, giving them much more poke than a single cylinder engine of equal size. The top speed of a 2001 Shadow 125 C, is roughly 80 miles an hour (128 Kilometres per hour) which is a very good speed for a 125CC motorcycle.
