Gadwell
Ducks are a common breed of duck and can be seen in many
parts of North America. This is because they are not only
a successful duck in the wild, but also are an easy duck
to raise domestically. They are kept as pets, as food,
or for the eggs they lay. In the wild Gadwell Ducks eat
a diet of tender pond shoots and small insects. In captivity
they are usually a diet based on wheat and pellets, with
diets varied for the breeding season. They are also very
fond of breadcrumbs, although this should be considered
more of a treat then a staple of their diet. Because Gadwell
Ducks are so easy to rear they are often interbred with
other ducks. Gadwell Ducks are ground nesters and people
often build them a place for their nests; these usually
take the form of wooden boxes placed by the edges of ponds.
